HO50s Cinema Club for the Over 60s
Hope to see you at an upcoming film at the Finsbury Park Picture House or the Crouch End Picture House. They are now both on a Thursday; at Finsbury Park it’s the first Thursday in each month, and at Crouch End the third Thursday each month. You need to e-mail or text the Forum (info@ho50s.org.uk or 07915 477009) to be put on a list of people who will be informed about what films are coming up and the start time. We send out an e-mail a few days in advance, as soon as the cinema tells us. It’s a sociable occasion; we meet in the coffee bar or members’ area for a chat about the film afterwards. The first time you go you need an age-proof ID like your Freedom Pass to show the box office you are over 60, then it just takes a few minutes to sign you up to the free Silver Screen club which the cinema chain runs across all its venues. You can then buy a discount ticket – currently just over £7 – and it comes with a free cuppa and biscuits. You have to join the cinema’s club, but you don’t necessarily have to join ours to attend. So bring a friend.
